Full results from our 2022 Castle Classic finals day. Well done to Ben Harris (Birmingham) who beat Tom Vickers (Winsford) 21 2 in the final.
Ben played superbly all day, particularly on 1 mark down the houses edge, a mark you don't see played all that often!
Unlucky to Tom, it just didn't happen for you in the final after playing so well all day, your time will come pal, I have no doubts about that!
I was worried when it rained nearly all morning, but in the end we largely avoided the rain and a good crowd witnessed some high class bowling...... and some dodgy singing afterwards
Thanks to all those that have helped, particularly to Kevin Edwards and Andy Houghton who hardly missed a night, that help is invaluable believe me. Thanks also to Lester Bebbington and Robin Olive for measuring, Tenchy for the BBQ, my wife Nicola for the raffle, DJ Daz for the karaoke, Jo Johnson for the fantastic hamper prize, and lastly to Bev and her team behind the bar. A proper team effort (I hope I've not missed anyone)
I'm signing off from official bowls duties now for a month, off to , see you at the George Astbury at the end of August for another great day in memory of a club legend.
